Apart from kitchen remodels, bath remodels are one of the highest ROI home improvement projects you can undertake. The bathroom is a smaller space, and so, renovating it is not as expensive as doing up a larger area. You can easily have a dramatic bathroom renovation within a small budget. Install good looking, yet inexpensive bathroom cabinets, and give your bathroom a floor makeover with natural finish ceramic tiles. If you'd like a complete bathroom renovation, then you absolutely have to have a shower and bath tub remodel too. If your budget allows for top-of-the-line everything, consider mosaics that resemble, porcelain, glass or metal, and embossed tiles which are becoming really popular in high end homes.
As you move towards your bath shower remodel, the variety only gets more complex. If you've had the exact same trusty single angled fixed shower, it may be time to make a change. Dual shower head systems allow you to enjoy the feeling of being blasted with jets of warm water from two different angels. Steam showers offer temperature selection, so you can have your own personal spa systems in your bathrooms, letting those toxins out, and giving you a healthy glow. Showers these days don't merely cleanse - they massage, soothe, and detoxify your body. Why be stuck with an old shower that does none of the above?
A century ago a large, deep claw footed tub was a luxury only to be enjoyed by the upper classes. These days, it would be hard to find a home that doesn't have at least one tub attached bath. Having said that, a bath tub remodel may not be for everyone. If you have no space for a bath tub, but have an existing stall, consider a tub-shower combo that allows you to enjoy both within the same space constraints. A corner tub can be fitted into a smaller space easily. If you have space, splurge on a whirlpool hydro massage tub. Corner tubs, standalone claw footed or granite tubs and large platform mounted or sunk in tubs, are all choices for large bathrooms. There are no restrictions where bathroom paints are concerned. Chose soft shades, or dramatic colors -- the choice is entirely yours. The cost of bathroom countertops will again be determined by the quality of material - marble granite, soapstone and quartz are among the more expensive materials, while laminates, and even stone, prove cheaper alternatives.
